Auto pause videos playing in background tabs

When starting playback in a foreground tab, all background playback will be paused.
You can open many videos in new tabs, then switch to them and the other tabs will be automatically paused.


done:

  • pause background videos when foreground video started playback
  • don't pause foreground video when background video starts

to do (eta: soon™):

  • don't pause background videos if foreground video starts muted
  • pause videos that started playing in a background tab, eg. after a reload (possible conflict with browser/system controls)
