On September 16th, 2024, Microsoft transitioned from Basic Authentication to Modern Authentication for accessing Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, and Live.com email accounts. This change enhances security by requiring applications to use more secure authentication methods. As a result, email clients that do not support Modern Authentication may no longer sync emails properly. Users are advised to update their email applications to versions that support Modern Authentication to ensure continued access to their accounts.
