Perplexity Model Watcher is a powerful utility designed to verify which AI model Perplexity is actually using to generate your answers. Sometimes, the platform may silently switch to a smaller or faster model (fallback) despite your selection. This script exposes the truth.

✨ Key Features


  • 🕵️‍♂️ Real-time Verification: Intercepts network traffic and actively fetches thread data to extract the hidden display_model and user_selected_model fields.

  • 🚨 Mismatch Detection:
    • Green Glow (OK): The model you selected is the one generating the text.
    • Red Glow (MISMATCH): The system silently switched the model (e.g., you selected Claude 3 Opus but the system used Sonar). The script alerts you immediately.

  • 💎 Premium UI: Features a beautiful, dark-themed "Glassmorphism" pill widget that blends perfectly with the interface.

  • 🖱️ Drag & Drop: The widget is fully draggable. Place it anywhere on your screen. It remembers its position.

  • ➖ Minimizable: Hover over the widget to reveal a close button. Click to minimize it into a tiny, unobtrusive status dot.
