Take full control of your Character Tavern roleplay. This script is the ultimate tool for immersion. It automatically cleans up AI responses, formats narration and dialogue exactly how you want it, and removes annoying "thinking" text—all with a single click.

It features a built-in Settings Menu (UI) so you can customize everything without touching a single line of code.

🌟 Key Features

🎨 Total UI Control (3 Modes) Don't like floating buttons? Prefer them integrated? Open the Settings (⚙️) in the top header to choose your mode:

  1. Floating Button: A button that hovers over the screen. You can Drag it, resize it, and change its opacity.
  2. Inline Top: Integrates seamlessly into the message header (next to Copy/Edit/Delete buttons).
  3. Inline Bottom: Adds a button to the input area (next to "Continue/Improve"), perfect for quickly fixing the last message.

📝 Smart Formatting Styles Choose how your roleplay looks. The script intelligently detects text inside quotes (") and formats everything else as narration.

  • Classic: *Narration* "Dialogue"
  • Bold Narration: **Narration** "Dialogue"
  • Bold Dialogue: Narration "Dialogue"
  • Hybrid: *Narration* "Dialogue" (Great for DeepSeek/coding models)
  • Plain Text: No formatting (Best for accessibility/TTS)

🧹 Advanced Cleaning

  • Think Tag Remover: Instantly deletes the AI's internal monologue (<think>...) and <system> tags so you stay immersed in the story.
  • General Tag Cleaner: Removes generic XML-like tags (e.g., <AI-response>, <segment>) but keeps the text inside them.
  • Prompt Leak Fix: Detects and chops off leaked system prompts (e.g., when the bot starts a message with "The user said...").
  • Separator Fix: Fixes broken scene separators (turns *---* into ---).

How to Use

  1. Install the script using Tampermonkey.
  2. Open any chat on Character Tavern.
  3. To Format: Click the Pencil (✏️) button. The script will edit, format, clean, and save the message automatically.
  4. To Configure: Click the Gear (⚙️) icon in the top header bar to open the menu.
  5. To Move (Floating Mode): Press and hold the Pencil button to drag it anywhere.
