From top-left to right-bottom, if I open the sample link, I got a page with the normal menus and headers, a HTML5 video with a small text banner advertisement ("Video courtesy of"...) at bottom but over the video [item 1], 2 image ads on the right side of the video [2&3], two lines of related videos and finally another big image banner at bottom [4].
If you use AdBlockPlus, by default it kills the 2 image ads on the right [2&3] and the one at bottom [4].
You can add this filter to kill the small text banner over the HTML5 video [1]: xvideos.com##.sponsor_popup.
Sorry, I don't see any FLASH on this link.
The guy was apparently right, only a script could hide that ad & not an adblock rule.
Have you tested the rule you gave me ? it doesn't work.
I said a filter rule to hide that ad on HTML5 video, not FLASH video.
Sorry, I don't know how to hide from FLASH because I don't know how to see FLASH videos on that link. It opens HTML5 video by default for me.
Offtopic: I think you (@delicacy) always watch FLASH videos. What's wrong with HTML5 videos ? Can you tell me the pros/cons ?
html5 is 1) highly dependent or not dependent of proprietary based system codecs,
& for that, not all formats are supported in firefox, when other recent browsers like chrome support more formats. 2) even a plugin like vlc will support more formats than html5 3) the day html5 will support all video & audio formats, i'll be buried 6 feet below, when html9 will be available (humor, but i'm not far from reality) 4) My minimal version of win8 doesn't include "windows media foundation" that' hardcoded to the registry along with windows media player. so i cannot use html5 for all formats. i only use it when possible.. but by default, 1) flash player manages media formats 2) vlc manages the unsupported ones..
It would be nice if you could temporary activate flashplayer to see the ad & create a script if possible.
I got actived flash extension, but it opens in html by default. I don't know how can I switch to force flash.
Maybe you can try it on palemoon, it's the browser i use, less bloated in terms of ui than firefox, it uses previous versions of firefox with only useful updates:

it was just to test it in order to provide a way to block the unneeded flash ad.. but if "You" are happy with firefox, then don't go click on the link for testing purposes & this will not be resolved.

At adblockplus, the author told me a userscript was needed to remove flash sponsor ads from xvideos.com
