The new ambient mode for youtube dark theme causes extreme cpu usage and fan spin on my 2015 macbook. Unfortunately I do not sign in to youtube so the option to disable the feature is completely blocked from me. Would you consider disabling this "feature" with your script?

These are the ways I use to disable it but they are not ideal:

Switch to light theme
or
Enter full screen / theater mode

Hi. To disable the cinematic effect of darker dark theme, you can click the video toolbar setting and uncheck the "Ambient Mode"

Besides, you can also try Microsoft Edge on your mac and turn on the performance efficiency mode.

Thanks, I just noticed the setting now. It fixes the performance issue but its sadly cookie dependent.
