it works in Chrome,
however Firefox, a lot of testing with the same results, it doesn't work...
I created a new profile without any changes in the configs or any other extension or script running to make sure it's not something on my end.

thanks for your feedback. Can you please enable debugging by setting const DBG = true; on line 27 and then, with developer tools open, reload youtube to see if there's any error/warning in the JavaScript console?
Doesn't work
audio mode is on but the video still loaded and playing normally
no errors in the console
tested on all the monkeys (Tamper, Greasy, Violent)
latest Firefox.
